SOLICITATIONS
School system employees shall not solicit or sell any goods or services on school property except as may be approved by the local school principal and the Superintendent.
All fundraising campaigns conducted by school employees in the community or away from school premises to obtain funds for the school, student body, class or club must have prior approval. The Superintendent shall have the authority to approve fundraising projects of less than $10,000, and the School Board shall consider for approval projects of greater than $10,000. Such fund raising campaigns shall not be conducted during regular school hours with limited exceptions as determined by the principal.
School system employees shall not sell merchandise, supplies, and/or equipment, or reference books during the school year and/or during working hours for personal gain.
School system employees shall not furnish or sell lists of students or parents to any commercial firm. Lists of names of high school seniors may be afforded groups for career recruitment purposes or for the purpose of voter registration through the central office only.
No employee shall use his or her position in this district to influence parents or students of the district to purchase books or other merchandise, except for materials approved by the Superintendent's office for use in an approved school program.
School system employees shall not be permitted to use any personal activity for financial profit outside the regular school program.
Except as may be expressly authorized by the School Board or the Superintendent, no employee shall:
Permit any commercial advertising to be announced, distributed or otherwise promoted in or through the schools.
Permit the solicitation or collection of subscriptions or contributions from students or their parents in or through the schools.
