BEREAVEMENT LEAVE

The East Feliciana Parish School Board shall grant employees one (1) day of paid bereavement leave time for death in the immediate family, which shall include husband, wife, children and their spouses, parents, brothers and sisters and their spouses; spouse's parents, brothers and sisters and their spouses; grandparents and grandchildren (including step-relations).

The leave shall be granted upon presentation to the Superintendent of an obituary and absence form stating the relationship of the deceased.  The one day of granted leave must be used within the same fiscal year/school year in which it was issued, and shall not carry over to the next fiscal year/school year.

The employee's principal or supervisor must be notified prior to the beginning of bereavement leave.
