PROCEEDINGS OF THE PARISH SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF EAST FELICIANA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A PUBLIC HEARING PRIOR TO THE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 28, 2007

 

                                                  NOTICE  OF  PUBLIC  HEARING

 

In compliance with Act 186 of 1984, on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 5:30 P.M., Central daylight savings time, the East Feliciana Parish School Board will hold a public hearing prior to consideration of proposed 2007-2008 FY General Fund and Special Revenue Budgets for submission to the Board on September 4, 2007.  The public hearing will be held in the East Feliciana Parish School Board Office, located at 12732 Silliman Street, Clinton, Louisiana.  On Thursday, August 16, 2007, a copy of the proposed budgets will be made available for public inspection in the East Feliciana Parish School Board Office, Tuesday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Central daylight savings time.

There were present: Honorables J. Curtis Jelks, Board President and School Board Members Michael Bradford, Vice-President, Elizabeth “Beth” Dawson, Anthony “Tony” Rouchon, Edward Brooks, Sr., Leon “Sonny” Franklin and Matthew Peterson.  Board Members Henry C. Howell, IV, Willie M. Jackson, Clay Barksdale, Richard Terrell and Mitchell Harrell were absent and not voting. Others in attendance: Glenn Brady, Ph.D., Superintendent of Schools, Irma Lee Bendily, Administrative Assistant, Douglas Beauchamp, Jr., Assistant Superintendent, Janice Betrece, Accountant III and Reba Staples, SDMS/SIS Accountant I.  Michaela Wells, Ph.D., Support Services Supervisor joined the public hearing at 5:36:31 P.M.

 

Board President J. Curtis Jelks convened the Public Hearing according to the notice as set out above.  Board President Jelks opened the meeting and turned the floor over to Anthony “Tony” Rouchon for his comments.  Board Member A. Rouchon turned the floor over to Assistant Superintendent Beauchamp for his presentation.  Board President Jelks then opened the floor for questions and/or comments.  After some public discussion by Board Members A. Rouchon, Dawson, Franklin, Peterson and Vice-President Bradford, along with responses from Assistant Superintendent Beauchamp, Dr. Wells and Dr. Brady, Board President Jelks then asked for any public comment before closing the public hearing.  Receiving none, Board President Jelks then proceeded to close the public hearing.  Board Members in attendance concurred.

 

Board President Jelks then closed the public hearing at 5:54:55 P.M.

 

There being no further business to come before the Board, Board President Jelks adjourned until the next regular meeting unless called into special session by the President.
