PROCEEDINGS OF THE PARISH SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF EAST FELICIANA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A PUBLIC HEARING PRIOR TO A REGULAR BOARD  MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2012

 

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

A Budget Hearing will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at 4:30 P.M., Central daylight saving time; at the East Feliciana Parish School Board Central Office Board Room, located at 12732 Silliman Street, Town of Clinton, Louisiana, for interested citizens of the East Feliciana Parish. The purpose of the hearing is to review the proposed adoption of the June 30, 2013 operating budgets.

 

EAST FELICIANA PARISH SCHOOL BOARD - SUMMARY OF 2013 OPERATING BUDGETS

The proposed budget may be examined Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the East Feliciana Parish School Board Central Office.  Interested citizens will have the opportunity to give written or oral comment.

            There were present: School Board Members Olivia Harris, Elizabeth “Beth” Dawson, Paul Kent and Michael Ray Bradford.  Board Member Melvin Hollins joined the public hearing at 4:39:54 P.M.  Board Member John Benjamin Cupit joined the public hearing at 4:45:26 P.M.  Board Member Broderick Brooks, Sr. joined the public hearing at 4:50:12 P.M.  Board Member Rufus Nesbitt joined the meeting at 4:52 P.M.  Board Members absent:  Mitchell Harrell, Debra Spurlock Haynes, Rhonda Matthews and Richard Terrell.  Other Attendees: Henderson Lewis, Jr., Ph.D., Superintendent, Irma Lee Bendily, Administrative Assistant, Edna Lusk Thomas, Director, Knight Roddy, Ph.D., Supervisor, Mavia Alice Marsalis, Supervisor, Richard Wright, Supervisor, James Bell, Jr., Supervisor and Joseph Jones, Jr., Supervisor and Tommy J. LeJeune, C.P.A. with Faulk & Winkler LLC, Certified Public Accountants.  20th JDC D.A. Samuel D’Aquilla joined the public hearing at 4:53:54 P.M.

 

            Board President Michael Ray Bradford convened the Public Hearing at 4:35:46 P.M. according to the notice as set out above.  Board President Bradford opened the meeting and turned the floor over to Tommy J. LeJeune, C.P.A. Member of Faulk & Winkler LLC, Certified Public Accountants for his presentation.  Board President Bradford then opened the floor for questions and/or comments.  After some public discussion by Board President Bradford, Board Member Kent and Ola Spears, Educational Diagnostician, along with responses from C.P.A. LeJeune, Board President Bradford then asked for any further public comment before closing the public hearing.  Receiving none, Board President Bradford then proceeded to close the public hearing.  Board Members in attendance concurred.

 

            Board President Bradford then closed the public hearing at 5:00:33 P.M.

 

            There being no further business to come before the Board, Board President Bradford adjourned the public hearing until the next regular meeting unless called into special session by the President.
