MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

OF THE EAST FELICIANA PARISH SCHOOL BOARD

HELD May 10 , 2022

The East Feliciana Parish School Board (EFPSB) met for a regular session at the EFPSB office at 12732 Silliman Street, Clinton, Louisiana 70722 on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Keisha L. Netterville, Superintendent of the EFPSB, called the meeting to order at 5:01p.m. Prayer led by Board President Richard Terrell and pledge said in unison. The attendance status of board members was as follows:

Agenda Approved

Board Member Michael Bradford made a motion to approve the agenda with add ons and Board member Joyce Kent seconded the motion. The motion to approve the agenda of the May 10, 2022 Regular Board Meeting passed with no opposition.

Minutes Approved

Board Member Michael Bradford moved to approve the minutes of the April 13, 2022 Regular Board Meeting and Board Vice President Mitch Harrell seconded the motion. The motion to approve the minutes passed with no opposition.

Special Recognitions

Presentations made for East Feliciana Central Office Employee of the month, Support Employees of the year, from all schools for Student of the Month and Exemplary Educators were recognized by Louisiana Department of Education.

Communications/Reports

A moment of silence taken for all expressions of sympathy.

Sales Tax Collection Report

The Sales Tax Collection Report was received by the Board.

Superintendent's Report

The Superintendent's Report presented as follows:

Announcement made on Open enrollment with Taylor& Son's from May 10-12, 2022.

Announcement of Summer Work hours beginning May 30, 2022 and ending July 22, 2022.

The Board received the Personnel Report.

Old Business

Southern Regional Leadership Conference in New Orleans, LA. on July 24-26, 2022

The board received and reviewed the revision to the 2022-2023 School Calendar. The motion to accept the revision was made by Board Vice President Mitch Harrell and seconded by Board Member Joyce Kent. The motion passed with no opposition.

New Business

The board received the request for authorization to advertise and or e-bid for the fiscal agent, bread and bread products, food items, milk and milk products, produce, small equipment , large equipment, pest control, cleaning supplies, paper goods and disposables for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

The appointment of the Official Journal, The Watchmen for the 2021-2022 fiscal year and the authorization for issuance of annual standards of conduct and certification for procurement for the Eat Feliciana Parish School Board Child nutrition program for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

The board received and reviewed written request for use of facilities by the East Feliciana Sheriff's Office to use the East Feliciana Professional Development Center's Classrooms, Auditorium and Gym on May 10, 2022, June 13-24, 2022, July 11-22, 2022 and December 27-29, 2022 from 7:00am until 5:00pm for trainings. Further request waive of fees.

The board received and reviewed written request for use of facilities by the Clinton Community Tigers to use East Feliciana Middle Schools Football Field, Bathroom and Field House on May 14, 2022, for Football Camp from 9:00am until 3:00pm. Further request waive of fees.

The board adopted the millage rates for the 2022 tax year.

The board received, reviewed, and adopted the Resolution Reapportioning Single Member Voting Districts for the East Feliciana Parish School Board under Plan A in accordance, with the 2020 Census.

The motion was made by Board Member Michael Bradford and seconded by Board Vice President Mitch Harrell to accept all of the said items above. The motion passed with no opposition.

The board members received information on the Louisiana Board of Ethics Annual School Board Member Financial Disclosure forms that are due on or before May 15, 2022.

The board members received information on LSBA Safety in Schools Virtual Training. The training program will be available to all school board members until December 31, 2022.

Adjournment

President Terrell moved to adjourn and a motion made by Board Member Michael Bradford and second by Board Member Emily Hurst. The May 10, 2022 Regular Board meeting ended at 5:23 p.m.
